#TNTConfidential Author Interview with Elodie Parkes ( @ElodieParkes ) and The Summer Heat #erotic #romance

Where oh where has July gone? Luckily the heat is still on and even more so with the sexy read I bring you today! I've Interviewed the lovely Elodie Parkes and learned all about her upcoming release The Summer Heat. With that title, my thoughts turn positively naughty!

When lifelong friends Nate and Evan watch the arrival of a new neighbor, they never expect to find their friendship rocked by the lovely Annabel who moves into the empty house next door.
Annabel likes both Nate and Evan the moment she meets them. As they all grow close, will she be forced to choose between these gorgeous men?

Available August 5th at Evernight Publishing and more!

Welcome back to In A Dream Beyond, Elodie! Share with us readers, what is your dream at this time of year?
My dream is to be on a tropical beach, white sand, pale green transparent ocean and a gorgeous guy to share the time with.

Do you ever get writer’s block? What do you do?
You know what, Elyzabeth, I’ve never had writer’s block. I have stories screaming out to be written and not enough time to write them, but so far never found myself with a block. I think if I did, I would just have a break and wait for the inspiration to come back.
Is there anything you’d love to try writing but haven’t dared to yet?

Science Fiction, but I am giving that a go in an erotic Sci-Fi story that, although I have all the ideas for, is only two chapters in because of other work. The other is BDSM. All my stories are erotic, but I’ve never written any kind of sub/dom story. I’d love to try it as it’s so popular with romance readers, or it seems that way to me. I have a story at the moment some chapters in and I’m thinking of taking it towards a mild BDSM thread. Then there’s MM romance. There’s a huge blow out of releases in this area, but I don’t think I could write it. I simply don’t know enough.

The title of your novel is Summer Heat and I have to tell you it brings to mind some naughty ideas (even more so after reading the blurb). What was the inspiration for it? Any personal experiences? *wiggles eyebrows*

I’d love to say there was personal experience, but there’s none with regards to the gorgeous guys in the story. (Who wouldn’t want that?) The inspiration came from a tree being cut down in the communal gardens where I currently live. I didn’t even see it felled, but I was immensely saddened as this was a healthy, young tree. In my story, the gorgeous guys are cutting down a diseased tree in their garden, and that’s how they see Annabel move in next door.

Did you have to do any research to write Summer Heat?

I researched a little about tree diseases that would cause falling branches. It doesn’t feature in my story.

If you had to pinpoint a flaw in your lead characters what would it be? How about an asset?

I love my characters. I always fall in love with them and so I can’t see their flaws. Assets, however, that’s a different matter. My guys are sexy, competent, not afraid to be emotional, handsome, but not arrogant or overly aware they are good looking. Nate is a gentler soul than Evan, and loves easily. Evan is alpha and more overtly sexy.

Tell us something about the novel that doesn’t appear on the blurb or the excerpt.
There’s sex in a garden.

Summer Loving…

Summer is here! What’s your best summer memory?
Driving up country with my music blaring and the sun going down on a hot day. I passed gorgeous coastline and drove over a bridge that spanned a small marina. I could see all kinds of lovely colorful boats below and a windmill on the far bank.

Any recommendations to stave off this heat?
Drink loads of ice-cold water.

For women (or for yourself): bikini, trikini, full body bathing suit, other?
Bikini definitely for me, but I’d have to let other women chose their own swimwear.

And what do you prefer to see men wearing? Board shorts, swim trunks, swim briefs, or string lateral flash thong (picture here)
Nothing preferably, but any of the above except that very silly flash thong. Just imagine if your guy starting getting heated when you kissed him on the beach, darn thing would fall right off.

Favorite summer destination?
I have no favorite destination. I’d love to say I go off each summer to somewhere great, but the truth is that’s the busiest time of year for where I work as it’s tourist season, and so I have more shifts and work most then so that I can survive the winter.

Any plans for this summer?
Just work and trying to fit in blogging, and some promotion for my new releases.

Read an Excerpt from, ‘The Summer Heat’

An hour later, when only the big carton in her study remained to unpack, the doorbell rang. A lurch of anticipation tightened her stomach. She took a deep breath and went to open the door on shaky legs. Calm down, she told herself.
Nate and Evan stood side by side on the doorstep. They’d obviously showered. Their hair still wet, Evan’s curled enticingly at the ends around his ears. They wore fresh T-shirts and board shorts, showing off muscular chests, arms, and legs.
A wave of complete desire left Annabel weak as she looked from one to the other.
“Come in.” Her voice wavered as nerves took over. She opened the door wide.
They walked in smiling.
Nate turned to close the door for her. His hand brushed hers.
A sexual charge from the connection forced her eyes closed for a second. She pulled herself together. “Do you want to go down to the kitchen? I’ve got cold beer and some juice. How did the tree stump digging go? Did you get it out?” She knew she gabbled, but couldn’t help it. Their nearness set her heart beating fast again. Her initial confidence when she’d met them was gone in the face of just how hot they were. Suppose they have girlfriends already and are just being neighborly? Suppose they don’t find me attractive in that way? Then she read the expression in his eyes when she offered Evan a bottle of beer. He likes me just fine. She touched her fingertips to his as she gave him the cold bottle. Rivers of sensation ran up to her elbow, and her thighs clenched involuntarily but deliciously.
Annabel turned her attention to Nate. “Beer, Nate?”
He nodded, and his eyes darkened at her as he came forward to take the drink.
Wow, he likes me. The thought brought a smile, and she sparkled at them both. “I’ll just get a glass of juice, and then we can go to the back room. It’s more comfortable there. We can sit and you can tell me all about the town. Have you lived here long?”
